We purchased the Shake, Rattle, & Drum for our twin 1 year old boys and they absolutely love it. We know that this is recommended for ages 3 and above, but they have been pounding on everything they could get their hands on so we figured they’d love it. At their age we only let them use it with adult supervision because they want to put everything in their mouth and we figure that isn’t prudent because of them ingesting the paint. The red rattle is a little loud so that may only come out for special occasions. I’d recommend this for budding musicians that like to pound on things.
We bought this drum set for my daughters 1st birthday and she absolutely loves it!! She walks all around the house shaking the maracas and then brings me the drum to beat (she also beats the drum too). And she loves the other shakers too. The age recommendation is 3 years, but is perfect for younger ages too. My nephew also has this set (also 1 year old) and we gave it as a gift to another 1 year old girl. Have fun making music together!
I didn’t want to buy any of the plastic drums and instrument sets so I was happy to find this. The drum is very sturdy and makes a lot of noise Our daughter (2 years) loves it. The drum has a handle attached so all the instruments can be stored in it when you turn it upside down. Perfect to teach clean up, too! The shakers are the only ones that are not very loud, they could be a little louder as they can’t really be heard when you play all instruments together. Overall, the best choice out there, couldn’t be happier.
We bought this for my son at four months. This is a truly great product that has already lasted for 9 months and counting. Early introduction had produced a little one who loves music and find the beat really enjoying musical activities ahead of his peers. My son wore out the rope int he clapper, but that was easily threaded with a new piece of material. I would recommend this as a great investment for your child or a great gift for someone else.
Like other reviewers, I purchased this toy for my daughter when she was under the 3+ age. At 9 months, she loved it. At 20 months now, she’s still consistently coming back to play with this set. It’s also always a hit at the play dates, as the kids constantly play with, then drop and pick up each other’s instruments. Good fun, that.
I’m astonished by the quality of the drum, which we leave upside-down on her shelf, and use to store the other items in the set. She bangs on the drum with her hand, the drum sticks and occasionally the other items in the set, and it has held up to all her “musical” intentions. Highly recommended.

The product isn’t designed for little guys so he can only use it supervised (if you use this with toddler or younger you may want to keep the drumsticks packed away until they’re a bit older). I purchased this wooden drum set for my one-year old grandson. The instruments are perfectly sized for his hands, and he appreciates the various sounds that he can achieve. I liked the drum set so well that I also purchased it for a former student’s one-year old daughter. I will likely purchase it again when I need a gift for another child who will inevitably enjoy these musical instruments.
Our 6 month old son loves to play with these toys. We have to supervise him as he goes crazy with the drumsticks and maracas. My only recommendation for improvement is the drum covering. Our son likes to scratch this and also plays the drums in a regular manner. The scratches are accumulating and I would recommend making this more durable as children will do all sorts of things including scratching with their fingernails. I definitely would still recommend this product and give it 5 stars overall.
This is a great toy! My grandson loves to drum, but he also enjoys turning the drum upside down and using it to put things into and out of, a favorite activity for most one year olds. He even takes some smaller toys and puts them in the little circle openings on the sides! The drum sound is most satisfying.
